I've always fancied owning a range rover, ever since I started working in 1976. First LR was a series III SWB. though this would be more economical than the RR. Found out that it wasn't so it went and was replaced with a 1975 3.5 4 speed with overdrive 2 door. Loved it and was only used for green laning. Swapped it for a 2.4 VM diesel which smoked like a chimney and all i'd one was change the oil. This was replaced by a LHD NAS 3.9 Auto. I converted this to LPG and had many miles trouble free motoring. This was replaced by a 1996 P38 which was relegated to the off roader in 2007 when I bought my first L322 a 4.2 SC. This was converted to LPGduring the first week I owned it. Had many years relatively trouble free motoring. Valves burned out after 30,000 miles on LPG (not the cars fault). The odd servicable part has needed replacement and a few weeks back the NSF suspension bag burst so fitted a new one. I now have a 2nd L322, a 4.4 petrol, which replaced the P38 as the off roader. I use this for marshalling at OFF ROAD racing events. It would be good if Nick Seaford could join us as most of our events are in wales. He may even know register 1. No, not me. Register 1 and myself run the start for Marches4x4 at 6 off road racing events thoroughout the year. Mines on the left, taken at a hotel carpark.
